[OS X TeX] musixtex newbie question

                                   Hello all,

 is there a musixtex user that can help me with this one :

appareantly I installed musixtex successfully (and I can
indeed compile some simple examples) ; but it seems
that my version of musixtex does not know the macros
"isluru" ,"ities" etc for slurs and ties. (I get a"Undefined Control
Sequence error).

 Yet this is not an old version

(the TeX console reads
MusiXTeX(c) T.112 <3 Jan. 2003>
MusiXLaTeX T.61 <25 September 1996> )

 What's going on ?
