I put the files as suggested on Ravalison's site
(like this :
To install PostScript fonts,
put
the .pfb files into
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/fonts/type1
the dvipdm/musix.map file into /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config
the dvips/musix.map file into /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/dvips/config
Add the line "Map musix.map" at the end of file
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c/updmap.cfg
To install musixtex,
put
the .mf files into /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/fonts/source/musixtex
the .tfm files into /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/fonts/tfm/musixtex
the .tex or .sty files into
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/tex/latex/musixtex
>From a terminal do "sudo texhash" and "sudo updmap".)
After having read the latest TeX_on_Mac_OS_X digest
I put the musixtex.sty file in
directory ~/Library/texmf/tex/latex/misc as Claus suggested ;
now the LaTeX error is
"Font \musiceleven=musix11 not loadable :Metric(TFM) file not found"
It looks like I've put the files all in the wrong place ...
