The documentation for pdftricks sucks! It took me a while to figure
this one out, but you need two additional programs to use pdftricks: a
shell script ps2eps and a c binary called bbox. You can get them from:
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/support/ps2eps/?action=/tex-archive/
support/
You have to compile the c program (the tar file comes with a binary for
macos, but I never use UNIX pre-compiled binaries), which is not a
problem if you installed Apple's dev tools (gcc -o bbox bbox.c).
It would be nice if these were installed by default. I suspect that GW
never uses pdftricks, so he is not aware of this "problem"...
