those people who can't handle options and technicality before they've

It would be a real shame if anyone stopped supporting their project due 
to biased advice given to newcomers. Of course, however, there is only 
so much of a market for TeX-aware text editors. Once you've got a 
certain level of funcionality, there's no reason you need another tool 
that does the same job.

In summary, I expect people will find out about the other editors as 
soon as they've worked out where they stand with TeX. I don't think my 
document changes the situation so drastically---in fact, it may even 
help people past the whole "TeXShop IS TeX" questions from new list members.
