Usually less than posting and waiting for a reply.

There's that read the doc bugaboo.

You're mistaking me for someone Apple wants to sell hardware too --- I
ain't got no PowerBook, and until Apple does a replacment for my
Newton, I ain't buying nothing from them.
Instead, I've got a ``manuals/tex'' directory on my penslate, w/ the
best of the on-line references loaded into the library in the Glassbook
Reader program --- lshort, memman, psnfss2e, TeX for the Impatient &c.
(this is party of why I did the free on-line typography books list)
Saves a lot of wear and tear, esp. on work's copy of _TeX for the
Impatient_
and my pen slate is probably smaller than the copy of _The LaTeX
Companion_ which I'm waiting for.

Well, I've got a ``periodicals/tugboat'' directory too, w/ all of the
on-line TUGboats... and for years I've been saving interesting posts
from comp.text.tex and filing them away into a ``texts/tex/...''
directory structure.
I've also saved pretty much every message from this list and texhax and
the latex3 list in Mail.app here at work --- all searchable, need to
look into transferring that to my pen slate.
