Finished! And OK:

pete 214 /\ which kpsewhich
/usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-current/kpsewhich
pete 215 /\ kpsewhich --show-path 8r.enc
.:/Users/pete/Library/texmf/fonts/enc//:!!/usr/local/teTeX/share/
texmf.local/fonts/enc//:!!/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.gwtex/fonts/enc/
/:!!/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/enc//:!!/usr/local/teTeX/
share/texmf/fonts/enc//

The two fourier docs (Michel Bovani's fourier-doc-en and Curtis
Clifton's short doc) work in pdflatex and in pdflatex
-output-format=dvi. dvips has no problems. DVI, PS, and PDF files can
be displayed faultlessly.
Just one remark: I had again copied my old texmf.local into the
installation area again. i-Installer warned that my old ConTeXt from
10.28 was elder than the new version it brought from 10.26 ...

Next try with a completely empty texmf.local!
