It'll give you a good view instantly if you'd choose pdf(la)tex to set 
your documents. TeXniscope has again and again to convert DVI to PDF 
just for temporary use.

If you'd launch X11 you could too use xdvi to view DVI files. Compared 
to TeXniscope text looks a bit too anti-aliased with PS fonts.
