Since this list is also largely connected with the PDF format:

After installing Adobe Reader 7, I discovered to my surprise that the
installation software has also installed a PDF browser plugin
"/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin" (different from the
one "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/PDF Browser Plugin.plugin" from
Schubert it) used by Safari and other browsers to visualize PDF
documents. There's a preference inside Adobe Reader (the application)
to determine whether this plugin is used or not.

Personally I prefer the Schubert it one, in the same way as I prefer
Preview.app to Adobe Reader (for one thing, the icons in Adobe's plugin
toolbar have a definite Window look, plus there's this irritating Adobe
advert in the top right-hand corner), but for visualization of more
elaborate PDF documents the Adobe plugin will certainly come in handy.
And it can visualize more document formats: the Adobe plugin does

	application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml
	XML Data Package
	xdp

	application/pdf
	Acrobat Portable Document Format
	pdf

	application/vnd.adobe.xfdf
Acrobat Forms Data Format in XML
	xfdf

	application/vnd.adobe.xfd+xml
	FormFlow99 Data File
	xfd

	application/vnd.fdf
	Acrobat Forms Data Format
	fdf

while the Schubert it plugin does

	application/postscript
	Postscript
	ps

	application/pdf
	PDF
	pdf
