[OS X TeX] pdf graphic too new to be included

Hi,
When I work on my old PowerBook G3 Series running Jaguar (vintage 1998,
forbidden by Apple to update to Panther), the version of Preview that
it runs does not allow me to crop pdf graphics. I opened the graphic in
Adobe Acrobat 6.0 (not the Reader, the full Acrobat), but got this when
I tried to include the cropped graphic in a LaTeX document:
Error: /usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-current/pdflatex (file
./NGSL_
set_is_unit/qqnorm_for_sets_c.pdf): pdf inclusion: found pdf version
<1.5>, but
at most version <1.4> allowed
==> Fatal error occurred, the output PDF file is not finished!
Is it possible that the latest LaTeX implementation (I recently
installed TL2004 with iInstaller) does not handle a version of pdf that
was created by a version of Acrobat that is not even the most recent
(Acrobat 7)? Anyone knows when this will change?
Thanks,
Denis Chabot
