"the new TeXShop will work fine with the old pdfsync" is absolutely correct.
(I am relieved.)
Now, if I could only be told where to learn how to "typeset from the
Terminal"—but please keep in mind that I am a terminal idiot and you can
read that either way you wish, I would be glad to do it pronto.
