You might want to try out the other script posted by Matthew Hill, 
which is totally self-contained. In fact, its level of shell- and 
apple-scripting is quite in advance of any of the scripts posted by me 
- where have you been Matthew? Do you secretly have a whole bunch of 
fancy applescripts you'd like to share? :)

I also infer from his question about scripting recently that he's hard 
at work on improving it...at least, he'd better! :)

Well, every little bit counts. I've got a couple of other applescripts 
in mind, but personally I think the really useful innovation occurs at 
a deeper level. For example, being able to collapse begin/end 
environments with a disclosure triangle would be the best thing in the 
world sometimes, but it sure ain't gonna happen with applescript...

(that's a hint for all you cocoa-writing TeXShop helpers! once I get 
some spare time I'm looking into it myself...but that could be, you 
know, years away potentially :)
