I too get some lines of code in the list. I've this definition in one 
of my tex files

> \renewenvironment{thebibliography}[1]
>      {\section{\refname}%
>       \@mkboth{\refname}{\refname}%
>       \list{\@biblabel{\@arabic\c at enumiv}}%
>            {\settowidth\labelwidth{\@biblabel{#1}}%
>             \leftmargin\labelwidth
> ...<snip>

and get some funny lines at the end of the listing of all the labels.
