[OS X TeX] OT: Matlab for OS X Startup File Question...

Hi,

So far, I have found this list to be about the best place for getting 
info about using the new version of Matlab with OS X. With the 
generous help of Joseph's post, I am now able to use Matlab 6.5 (R13) 
with OS X 10.2.1.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate a source of info about 
using a "startup.m" file. On other UNIX systems, one creates a 
"matlab" subdirectory in their home directory and puts the startup.m 
file there. On launch, Matlab "knows" to check that subdirectory.

So far, it seems that Matlab only runs my startup.m file if it's in 
the current directory of the shell from which I launch Matlab (or a 
symlink).

Anyone figure out how to get the expected behavior? Adding something 
to the /Applications/MATLAB6p5 hierarchy would seem to violate the 
multiuser setup of OS X.
