[OS X TeX] i-Installer behind a firewall

Hi all

This sounds like an RTFM, apologies if that is the case - I tried
Gerben's pages and a search on the list archive and couldn't find
anything.

Does the i-Installer work behind an authenticating proxy server ?

At work I have to go through an http proxy that wants a username
password authentification. At home I am directly connected.

I have used i-installer at home on my laptop but at work it and my
desktop machine complain which I am guessing means it cannot get
past the proxy.

I have a method for getting around this which is to use authoxy

http://rambler.newcastle.edu.au/~c2004527/Products.html

but I thought I would check that the situation with proxies
is as I am imagining it.

Presumably another approach is that I can download a package at home to
my laptop, fatten it and then transfer it to my desktop at work??

Thanks - Michael
