[OS X TeX] pdf include

Hi,
a newbie question needs your help.

I had this include

\usepackage{graphicx}

\begin{figure}
\begin{center}
	\includegraphics[width=6in]{mix35}
\end{center}
\end{figure}


but TexShop generated the output file in which the figure mix35.pdf could
not be viewed or printed beyond a bounding box with the
file name in it.

this mix35.pdf is actually generated using texshop itself.

I am confused.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

not sure whether this is the problem the Tex error message also has
something as this:

loading: Context support macros / Missing
)
loading: Context support macros / PDF
