No, but I have updated TeXShop and tetex from time to time.

Thanks.  I managed to find the map files and, and issued 
the corresponding commands.  Despite generating a frightening number of "file 
not found" errors, this did the trick.  But this is black magic of a high 
order.  Is there a PERMANENT way of informing TeX that I have these fonts so 
that I don't have to repeat these incantations with each tetex upgrade?
