[Mac OS X TeX] starting point

I've found a brief introduction to Darwin in Mastering Mac OS X, by Todd 
Stauffer. My mac came with OS X installed, so I didn't get the developer 
tools CD. But apparently I can download the tools to deal with Darwin on 
the apple site.
