[luatex] Confirm change in TL 2016-pretest vs. TL 2015 behavior: dvilualatex fails because of pdfpageheight

Ah I understand better now.
If we use the new syntax of
\pageheight\paperheight
\pagewidth\paperwidth
then it also works with luatex 0.8 (when I say "works" I just mean
compiles; I did not check the intended effect). Is there an older
version of luatex for which the above does not work and the
\pdfpageheight\paperheight syntax does work?
Thanks,
Scott
