LuaTeX is specifically marked as not 100% back-compatible with Knuth's
TeX and the team behind it reserve the right to make additional
changes to behaviours. At the same time, it's also still in
development and so bugs are to be expected. Unicode math font handling
is still in its infancy and it's not a surprise that XeTeX and LuaTeX
can show differing outcomes.
