[luatex] LuaTeX fails to respond correctly to 'e' (edit)

Hello all,

As discussed in
http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/123216/environment-variable-texedit-doesnt-work-with-lualatex,
LuaTeX doesn't seem to open an editor when given 'e' in response to for
example the 'Undefined control sequence' prompt. I see this in both
MiKTeX and TeX Live, so suspect it's an issue/decision at the LuaTeX
end. Is this deliberate, or is it a bug?
