Anyway, TEXMFCACHE is quite conTeXt specific and it's not even sure that conTeXt
will continue using it (at least in TL) once it'll become more multi-user. OTOH,
TEXMFVAR has been there for many years now and will probably always be, and is
well suited for this kind of thing.

So, even if TL'10 had a TEXMFCACHE variable, I'd recommend sticking to TEXMFVAR.
