[lltx] kerning; am i mad?

Hi,

It's time for me to finish for the night, but I think I'm going crazy.
Just yesterday I generated the following test file for fontspec:

But after messing around and probably updating some stuff here and there, I now get:

No more kerning!
Here's a test file to replicate what I'm seeing:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{luaotfload}
\begin{document}
\font\1=name:Verdana\1 Test
\end{document}

What do you see?

I can't replicate the old output that has proper kerning, even going back to older versions of luaotfload. I've tried TL2010 and TL2009. Am I mad? Where has my kerning gone?
