May I suggest "modern-latex" ? This would more nicely emphasize what it 
is, namely an enhancement for  latex on modern engines. BTW the name is 
inspired by the Modern::Perl module on CPAN: 
http://search.cpan.org/dist/Modern-Perl/ which is very similar in spirit 
to what *ltxtra does.
