the diff doesn't show if you have deleted it or not (and I'm not up to 
checking right now), but for historical reasons I would keep that one 
(the \expanded emulation) in the source behind verbatim and not just 
somewhere inside the git ... just think about what you want to tell your 
grandchildren :-)
