[l2h] Debian's patches to latex2html

Hi,

I'm still maintaining the latex2html package in Debian :-) and would
like to give something back. :-)

At http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/latex2html , you will always
find a file called latex2html*.debian.tar.gz which includes Debian's
adjustments to the original latex2html package.

Since Debian now has got a new source format, this makes it even easier
for us to collaborate: Just untar the above file, and under
debian/patches/, you will find individual patch files which are applied
to the current latex2html version in Debian (currently v2008). The
patches include individual descriptions in the header lines. So you can
cherrypick what to take back from Debian; some patches are really Debian
specific (e.g. path names), but most of the others are fixes that I
consider appropriate to also apply to the original latex2html.

Especially, please have a look at match-multiline.patch which removes
the remaining $* from all perl files, since perl in Debian doesn't
support $* anymore (maybe I added more "m" modifiers than necessary
instead but they won't hurt).

Further, at our bug tracking system

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=no&src=latex2html

you will find some open issues which might be interesting for you since
they also apply to original latex2html.

Thanks for considering,

bye,
  Roland
