The GPL does not place any restrictions on the amount you can charge for 
distribution (really, go check it, no "media only" clause in there). The 
L2H license does. debian can be sold for profit (as can any other 
distro, and frequently are) but the clause in the l2h license would 
prevent you from distributing it for profit. Most distros are less.. 
stringent than debian about licensing, they may distribute it anyway, 
debian won't.
