[l2h] cropping bars

I'm having the same problem, Christian, on Red Hat Linux 8.0. I've 
upgraded to the latest version of netpbm (10.13), to no avail. I'm 
using perl 5.8.0, but I tried an older version (5.004) that I had 
lying around --- again with no success.

Any suggestions out there?
