Hi,

I've tried installing LaTeX2HTML on my Windows ME machine, and everything went
OK (I ran config.bat without a problem. I already have the environment memory
of the MS-DOS prompt set to 1024 to prevent the common "out of environment
space" error), except that I can't get test.bat to work. I can't get a log
because it blocks before the end, and the only thing I can see on my DOS prompt
is (copying by hand):

[3]
Converting image #2
Specified COMMAND search directory bad
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters
Too many parameters

Microsoft(R) Windows Millenium
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1999.

Bad command or file name

C>showpage
Bad command or file name

C>quit
Bad command or file name

C>_

The underscore represents the cursor. Once arrived there, everything is blocked
in the DOS window and I have to stop it through Ctrl-Alt-Del. Now, it looks
like there's a problem while reading the second image image002.ps, and it ends
up having postscript on the MS-DOS prompt. But what causes that? And is there
any way to run test.bat without a problem? For what I can see when it only
tests everything and doesn't try to convert l2htest.tex, everything goes OK.
So, does anybody know what is wrong and how to solve it?

For information, I downloaded LaTeX2HTML-2002-2-1, and the config.log runs this
way:

Please, I really need some help as I would really want to use LaTeX2HTML for
the METAFONT tutorial that I am preparing for publication on the web, so if
anyone knows what is going wrong and can help me out, I'll be extremely
grateful.

Thanks in advance!

Christophe.

End of latex2html Digest, Vol 2, Issue 15
*****************************************
.Hi Cristopher !

My name is Alvaro Salas and I am from Bogotá (Colombia). I am a mathematician and I studied at the Ex-Soviet Union (Kishinev State University, Republic of Moldavia) from 1982 to 1988. I am 39 years old.

I received your message about latex2html installation on Windows ME. I don´t use Windows ME. Instead, I use Linux Red Hat 7.3, Windows 98 (second Edition) and Windows XP. I installed latex2html on all these plataforms. It runs very well. The equations it generates are transparent gifs without any gray background and without any boxes around them. Believe me, I spent about six months trying to install latex2html on windows. If you consider I may help you then write me again.

Sincerely,

Alvaro Salas
