[l2h] image conversion with latex2html

Hi,

I'm running a redhat 7.1 system using:

netpbm     - 9.14-2
latex2html - 2K.1beta (1.47)
Latex      - tetex-1.0.7-15.6

If I start latex2html on an tex file everything works just perfect except
the inline and math images - they come with a black L-shaped
left-and-bottom border which looks extremely ugly.
Moreover some images stubbornly refuse to produce a white or transparent
background.

Attached you'll find an example of these problems ...

Need some help here
