[l2h] Cannot get rid of half-frames around generated math images.

I have a problem getting rid of half-borders that are generated around 
math images. I'm running RedHat 7.1 with LaTeX2HTML Version 2K.1beta (1.47).
Previously (RedHat 5.2) the half-borders did not show up at all. 

Any suggestions?
