[l2h] [Q] security in spawning latex/latex2html jobs

Thanks to those people who helped me to get going a web based l2h.
In a bad dream, I worried that people having remote write access to my
server might embed something in their latex which could be "exec"-ed
into a security breach. Is that possible with latex or latex2html?
P.s. the working site is http://o2.chem.uconn.edu/cgi-bin/cdavid/l2h.pl
and any criticisms/corrections would be greatly appreciated.
