[l2h] LaTeX2HTML math images

Being a new user of latex2html, I ran into a problem:
My gif- or png - images of math equations show a very bad resolution, 
or, if I play with the scale factors according to the manual, only the
 lower part of the equation is visible with better resolution.
I am using LaTeX2HTML 99.1 (March 30, 1999) on (SuSE) Linux with Kerne
l 2.0.36.
 
Can anybody help?
