[l2h] Problem with verbatim

Hi,

I'm using Version 99.2alpha7 (1.12) on Solaris 2.7  (perl 5.005).
The verbatim environment doesn't work right.

Here is a simple latex file that gives problems:


xxxxxxxxxxx cut here xxxxxxxxxxx


\documentclass{book}

\begin{document}
\title{Bug}
\author{V Lakshmanan}

\maketitle

\tableofcontents

\chapter{Testing}

This one doesn't show up:
\begin{verbatim}
local typedef Datum < AlgTrackStruct > AlgTrackDatum ;
\end{verbatim}
But this one does:
\begin{verbatim}
local typedef Datum < AlgTrackStruct > AlgTrackDatum ;
\end{verbatim}

\end{document}
