Dear Listers,

The Latex workshop to be held Pune at Bhaskaracharya Pratishthana
(http://education.vsnl.com/bp)
during 9-14 June, 2003.

We would be giving to the participants a copy of the book "Latex
tutorial" prepared TUG-India.
The syllabus for the workshop can be the whole book, but we have to make
some modifications taking
into consideration what can be covered in the six days.

Also do you think that some other topics can be incorporated instead of
certain topics in the book?

Could you suggest topics which you think most appropriate for the six
days Workshop?

We think that some of the following topics may also be discussed during
the workshop and these may be beneficial to the participants.

1. Introduction to emacs editor for Linux.
2. Latex installation for Windows.(99% windows participants)
3. Utilities like Latex2html, pdflatex, dvips, pslatex, tex2word,
word2tex, twoup, etc.
4. Different style files like fancyheadings, devnag (for devnagari fonts
-Marathi/Hindi fonts).
5. Softwares for Graphics compatible with
latex such as GNUPLOT (for
plotting graphs of fuctions), Pstricks (style file for Geometrical
figures), XYPIC, dia. Wormreader.sty (for labelling in figures).
6. Layouts and formats using different style files.
7. Free Mathematical Softwares
Mu-pad lite, Singular, POVRay, Ubasic, Pari, Macsyma, psilab, etc.

Your suggestions in this regard are most solicited.

regards,
