[fptex] dvips log file

I run fptex under W2000.  I have been unable to induce dvips (running in 
  a command console) to pipe its debug output (-d # option) to a log file.
Is there a solution to this problem?

This is probably a Windows problem, but since fptex is the Tex Windows 
world, it seems appropriate to ask for help here.  If there is somewhere 
else I should be asking this question, please redirect me.
