[fptex] (not) missing file

Hi,

I work with fptex 0.4 under Windows 98. In one of my TeX files I use the
PostScript font ptmr8r. When I try to open the DVI file with WinDVI, I
get the following error in the "Log File" window:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode esphi --bdpi 720 --mag 1+0/720 --dpi 720 ptmr8r
gsftopk(k) version 1.19.2/700

...

[252] [253] [254] [255]mktexpk: Running gsftopk ptmr8r 720
c:/windows/TEMP/mta52577/astdout: Permission denied
c:/windows/TEMP/mta52577/ptmr8r.720pk: Permission denied
c:/windows/TEMP/mta52577: Permission denied

gsdll_init returned 0
...exiting
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In fact, this is normal (more or less) since I work with ghostscript
7.0 and there is a known bug in it that causes this behaviour. The
problem is that I already have the file ptmr8r.720pk in my computer (I
brought it from another computer). Part of the file ls-R from the
directory texmf-var reads:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
./fonts/pk:
esphi
ljfour
modeless
ptmr8r.720pk
ptmr8r.300pk
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I tell my computer "Stop looking for the file ptmr8r.720k; you
already have it!"?

Best regards

José Carlos Santos
