The "e" response to TeX error in fptex

Dear all,

When you use tetex and it encounters a TeX error, answering with an "e"
to the prompt will get you to the default editor which I found out is
notepad in fptex. 
How can I customize its behaviour? 
My intention is to use the pfe editor so that I can get to the line
where the error occurs; notepad just get you to the start of the tex
source file.

Please excuse if it's answered before. I have checked the texmf.cnf and
tetex FAQ/documenation but there seems to be no information on this.
