How to make fptex and YAP working together?

Dear fptex users,

has anybody tried to make yap work with fptex? Is it possible to change the naming 
convention for .pk files in fptex to the convention used by MikTeX? 
(/fonts/name/dpi<resolution>/file.pk). 

I looked into texmf.cnf, but I didn't find a variable like PKPATH in MikTeX.

Or ist it generally impossible?
