Unfortunately, \pdfmapfile does only work with pdfLaTeX. Any ideas how
to make Adobe fonts default when using mathptmx etc. in LaTeX and MetaPost?

Due to limitations of the current 'steam' driver the maintainer, some
Nikolaus Otto, has a brand new four stroke combustion model in the pipe.
It's pre-alpha stage still, but seems promising!
