Dead? For one thing I heard the other day that Apple's market share of the
total personal computer market (I can't remember if it was the world market
or just the US market though) had increased from around 5% to around 10% in
the time from the release of the iMac till the present. For another thing
MacOS is quickly moving towards becoming one of the many members in the
family of UNIXes.
