I am subscribed to a blindmath list - a forum for those interested in
math teaching/using by blind persons (it was recommended to me by
Jonathan Fine, by the way). Here is an interesting letter from the
list. I think the reason for dropping the course is quite unusual

JGHvB> Yeah, I didn't see that in the original post but I write all my own
JGHvB> latex by hand. Every document I create for any reason, whether it is for
JGHvB> work or for one of the non-profits I am involved in, is written in latex
JGHvB> by hand. Then I convert it to pdf and send it out.

JGHvB> I used to teach a mini-course in latex for grad students at the
JGHvB> Math Department at the University Of Wisconsin. We dropped it a
JGHvB> long time ago because grad students come in already knowing
JGHvB> latex.
