It would be well worth drawing this requirement to Jonathan Kew's
attention, since he and I have recently been discussing my proposal
that it should be possible for XeTeX to close one output PDF file
and open another mid-job; this is clearly a related feature.
Indeed, if \XeShipout could be added, to take an additional
parameter (the name of the output PDF file), this could well address
both requirements.<br>
