Hi All
I've an announcement, and some good news. The announcement is that at
TUG2018 in Rio, on Friday 20 July, they'll be a workshop on Accessibility
challenges in LaTeX. Earlier that day, Ross Moore is giving a talk on
Authoring accessible tagged PDF documents using LaTeX.

http://tug.org/tug2018/abstracts/moore-tagged.txt
Now for the good news. In May, Ross published some examples of PDF/UA
documents, built using LaTeX. But no sources. However, now we have some
sources. So we can see how authors might be affected.
An aside: In response to requests from myself (
https://tug.org/pipermail/accessibility/2018q2/000039.html) and Chris
Rowley (off-list), Ross has provided source TeX documents for some of the
PDF/UA documents.
Thank you very much for doing this, Ross. And for telling me this morning,
off-list, that you'd done this. The PDF/UA documents and (some) of their
sources are, as before, available at:
http://web.science.mq.edu.au/~ross/TaggedPDF/
By the way, you won't be able to run the TeX source files yourself, unless
Ross supplies to you the non-CTAN LaTeX style files they depend on. I for
one hope that he can do that soon. This would very much help me contribute
(by email) to the accessibility workshop on 20 July.
with best regards
Jonathan
