Further on the reuse of names like romanl.mf and romanu.mf:

I wonder how much real difference there is between the Art Ogawa
version and the DEK version.  If it is only a small amount there is
even less reason to have two dialects of roman[lu].mf  

The need to accept instances of duplicate names for such cases
as rasterized fonts remains obvious.  There may be a couple of
additional cases, but not many.  For the remainder, duplicate
names can and should at very least be discouraged.
