Converts MS Word for Windows 6.0 / 7.0(=95) documents (binary!) to LaTeX, plain text or html, without the necessity to have Word available, also on many non-PC systems.

Written in C++

Environments reported to work include

• RS6000 running AIX (Unix)
• cygwin32 (win 32 Microsoft platforms)
• DEC Alpha AXP under OSF/1 (Unix)
• IBM SP2 (Unix)
• Linux (external link) (Unix)
• SunOS (Unix)< /LI>
• gcc on solaris (unix)
• FreeBSD (Unix)
• SGI (Unix, some hacking reuqired)
• OS/2 and EMX with this patch (external link) from Oleg V.Cat. Another port by Joerg Klemenz has a web page (external link).

Environments reported not to work include

• acc on Solaris (source ANSI violations, fixes wanted)
• Microsoft Visual C++ (lots of problems, includng lack of alloca and incapable make clone)
• Borland C++
