-APP : illustrator
.CLASS : annoyance
.FILE_STATUS : large example file - URL incl.
.VERSION : 8.0.1
.OS : 9.2.2
.TITLE : Illustrator quadruples the size of EPS files generated in Matlab
.DESCRIPTION : When I generate an EPS file in Matlab, then load it into
Illustrator to add text and other features, and then save it as an
Illustrator EPS file, the resulting file can be ridiculously large:
for instance, an EPS file which was 1.8MB becomes 30MB!
(This particular file consisted of many, many single points plotted by Matlab.)
