\doabstract{Medical pedigrees: Typography and interface} {Boris Veytsman and Leila Akhmadeeva} {At the last \TeX{} meetings we presented our work on medical pedigrees~[1, 2]. In this talk we report our newest advances in this field. First, we improved the look of pedigrees based on the study of classical and modern illustrations in biological and medical papers. Second, we worked on the interface to the program and incorporated the comments and suggestions received from the users. We discuss the new challenges and unsolved problems. \def\newblock{\hskip .11em plus .33em minus .07em }% \item{[1]} Veytsman, Boris and L.~Akhmadeeva. \newblock ``Drawing medical pedigree trees with {\TeX} and {\PSTricks}''\kern -.15em. \newblock {\em TUGboat} {\bf 28}(1), 100--109, 2007\UseExtraLabel{}. \newblock \\ \url{http://tug.org/TUGboat/Articles/tb28-1/tb88veytsman-pedigree.pdf}. \item{[2]} Veytsman, Boris and L.~Akhmadeeva. \newblock ``Medical Pedigrees with {\TeX} and {\PSTricks}: New advances and challenges''\kern -.15em. \newblock {\em TUGboat} {\bf 29}(3), 484, 2008\UseExtraLabel{}. \newblock \url{http://tug.org/TUGboat/Articles/tb29-3/tb93abstracts.pdf}. }
