<div dir="ltr">Dear all,<div><br></div><div>in the diagram</div><div><br></div><div>\xymatrix{A\ar[d]|x \\ B}<br></div><div><br></div><div>the label x on the arrow seems to touch the line of the arrow on both sides and I would like to avoid that. I tried to put an invisible frame around the label to get a larger gap in the arrow, but my understanding of the xy-syntax is insufficient to do this.</div>
