When trying to get help with errors, always quote the exact error
message you're getting. Otherwise it is hard or impossible to provide
useful help.

Does it help if you insert a space between \ar and @? If so, you have
a problem with your catcodes. Do you use @ for anything else than
Xy-pic things in your file?
