Dear Gareth,
I replied in the XeTeX list your question. If you need more help with the Memoir class (which I love, by the way), I will be glad to help you.

I did some google-stocking (I hope you don't mind!) and found out you are currently studying at Oxford.
I myself will be beginning my DPhil in Philosophy at Oxford (medieval logic and metaphysics, mainly), in October this year. I was admitted to Balliol college.
Perhaps we may meet some time. (I will be arriving by mid September.)
Best wishes,
Nicolas Vaughan

On Sun, Aug 9, 2009 at 2:19 PM, Gareth Hughes <garzohugo@gmail.com> wrote:

Although this not exactly a XeTeX issue, I'd thought I'd ask first here.

I'm setting an edited text in the memoir class with XeLaTeX and need to
place small amounts of text (8 characters long) in the margins, at most
two per page. I'm using the \marginpar command. All was working fine
until I extended the text and got the error 'Too many unprocessed
floats'. Of course, no minimal example is available for this. Can anyone
tell me what might be going on, and how the situation might be resolved?

Thanks,

Gareth.
